How much control does technology have over our lives?

The above photo montage entitled "The Raging Reporter" was made in 1926 by Otto Umbehr. Before we watch an analysis clip on the picture, let's look at it closely. What do you see? What is the purpose of each item? (class handout / copy below). Note that if you are absent, you will need to watch the film clip to complete the assignment. See link below.

After having viewed the film, revisit and refine your list and the purpose for the items. (application)
Finally, take another look at your list and categorize the items. They may fall into more than one area. Be prepared to support. (synthesize)

Writing: “The Raging Reporter” has some interesting juxtapositions. Once again, look at the image, noticing the fragmenting and reassembling of the pictures.  In a well-written essay, compare the beneficial and destructive aspects of the items in one of the categories.   (length: minimum 250 words)
