Friday, October 11 base-line assessment
Note from Ms. Parker- you are taking a base-line assessment in class today, which will consist of one section of an old Regents exam. Having written two essays so far this year, you understand the importance of incorporating text-based evidence. As well, Mr. Monson pointed out the correct was to cite your lines.
After you finish the exam, I will had you a grade report. I have no extra copies of materials. If you care to erase a zero, please go to the blog to find the assignment, as I have said since the first day of school. www.english111-13-14.blogspot.com It's on your class criteria sheet and the front of the room. If you have questions, send an e-mail, after you have checked the blog! After Tuesday, there will be no grade changes.
On Monday, you will continue reading Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
Think about how the Romantic ideas on Nature (yes, I purposely made that a capital N---how come?), imagination and emotion are reflected in the poem?
